A £2,000 donation from Barratt David Wilson Homes has supported three important patient-focussed projects at Maidstone Hospital this summer: furniture for the Emergency Department Psychiatric Assessment Room; a support group for young patients with gastrointestinal problems and their carers; and the Trust’s regular dementia cafés which are open to all patients living with dementia and their families.

The generous donation has allowed the Trust to purchase new chairs and a sofa to upgrade the Psychiatric Assessment Room in the Emergency Department at Maidstone Hospital, alongside activities to allow children and carers to come together and support each other through a gastrointestinal diagnosis.

It has also provided invaluable support for the Trust’s dementia café, which take place monthly at both Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells hospitals and providing a safe space for patients and their families chance to chat and spend time together in familiar surroundings.
